I think it could be better to be honest. Shorter punchier text.

Pics are of course good.

Check out behance.net and have a go at their trial pro site.

The site gives a feeling of 'professional cartoonist at work'. Exactly what you want to show!

I do believe the slideshow looks beter if you turn it into a banner and put it behind the 'funny business cartoons' text. (above your navigation panel.)

For the text, I stick to what Leah wrote. We don't want to have to scroll-sown on your home page! (Remember you visitors are lazy.) Make a good short story about what you want to sell your customers. (Why are they actually on your site? To offer you a good paid Job!). Use only one cartoon on the home page and put the other two cartoons somewhere else. (maybe under 'single panel gags')

Hope you can work with our feedback. (I'm still busy working on a good banner... :p But I think I do something like your slideshow, It works really good. )

Oh yes. Remove the guy with the thumb down from your homepage slide. It now looks like it says: This page is crap. Probably not the impression you want to make. Wink

Could you btw explain how you made that slide show?

Do I need to download something? And how do you keep the size small?

Me or Simon?

I don't use a blog format, I wrote the code myself.
(Used some internet copy/pasting. :p And 'lightbox'. (the piece of code that gives a nice border around the images when you click them and turns the backround to grey.))

Currently I'm bussy with sprites, but it doesn't work 100% yet in Internet explorer.

Ah

In which case you might do well with a widget

see left side of forum, we have a scrolling widget showing latest content?

Click on that it'll take you to site where you can create free widgets of varying sizes, etc and then you add your image feed...or whatever.

This is one way around it.

You can also add slideshow using flickr. They allow slideshow gallery creations.
