learn about a bit of Coffee

Post by coffeejunkie on Sat 14 May - 5:41

Hi Im known as Coffeejunkie, because I need my fix of coffee before I can get up, let alone put pen to paper or pen to tablet.
I mainly draw caricatures, as I find it hard to look at a face and see just that, I tried but my mind just looks at the fun side, simlar to the dark side, but with funny faces!. I like sci fi, humour, and reading. I also like watching dvds late at night with headphones on as the wife dosnt like my 'type ' of films, and is suprised they have sound on!

Hi coffeejunkie and welcome to the forum. That banner is really eye- catching! Is your website still under construction or can we have a look?

Ive only just done the banner, its my first one and it took me ages to get it the right size and figure out how to get up on here..... Ive got so much to learn, mainly how to stop beating my computer to tiny bits, I think Im winning so far, but its tough!

Ere...I want a banner sig!! Why didn't I think of this magnificent idea.

So...how did you do it? Is it plain old html code?

Meanwhile I think it could do with shortening a tad maybe an inch shorter?

Hi, Coffee! Welcome! You've got some really great work, btw. I've just recently been dabbling in caricature, but I just am too much of a softie to make fun of people (to their face, that is!) Mine end up more like cartoon portraits, but that's OK - just my style, I guess. Very Happy

I put it together in photoshop, saving it as a simple jpeg, then exported it into Photobucket, then grabbed the IMG CODE and some how plonked it on here. Very Happy
WHAT ! an inch shorter! OMG it took me ages to get it to this size, I changed it about 6 times so it would fit!
If someone had been watching this thread at the time they would of needed medical help with all the changes that were going on! LOL !.
Hi Kathy, thanks for the welcome and for the compliments, I do my best. I started doing caricatures after I found them easier than portraits, and more fun! though I have lost one job due to doing one of the supervisor in the past !. Everone has their own style as as long as the person you are doing it for likes it, thats the main thing, OH yes and have fun ! Smile. If I know someone can take it I will go to town and just let it flow, but others you have to be more gentile Smile.

Yep 'genteel' is the right word. Whenever I've been asked to do likenesses, glamming the person up rather than down always receives a better reception than omitting a hair follicle here and there to emphasise early hair loss!

But as you say...some have the stomach for a harsher critique Wink

Re the banner...it looks better in this post. It's cos the text post is longer so banner sits better under all the other text. I might have a go at seeing if I can import one...is it actually saved as a 'signature' or do you have to add it each time you post?

Meanwhile if you are able to link the banner to your site so when someone clicks on it they go straight to your site, that would be better again.

Tada.......my banner Smile

585 x 170 if anyone wishes to know the dimensions....

I haven't figured out what code I need to add to get the banner linked to a website yet. I added the banner as a picture image...anyone know how to link it direct to website??

In my experience 1000 X 300 works for banners Leah. That's how I did the banner for this Forum. Banner Design is a very lucrative Avenue to pursue on the Freelance sites btw. I like to keep mine simple though.

What's more, you can animate them. Piss easy. Same as I did my owl avatar. That was only 2 frames as well. There is the facility to do 5 frames on here.............
