Your Opinion, Please.

Post by epmonroe on Fri 4 Feb - 7:01

I have been lately trying to decide how many of my cartoons to keep on my website at one time. I've thought I should retire some older postings and not keep everything I've drawn online. But I don't know...
What do you guys think?

I think as long as you're happy with the art work, keep it all. It all helps re searchengine fodder. Ensure when titling posts you always say the nature of the cartoon followed by words 'gag cartoon' as this will help searchengines direct traffic to your site.

It is always best to keep a range of work. To see your style grow from its infancy upto the present day makes it more personal. When you move your pictures get an opinion from other people. Find some people who aren't cartoonist. They will give you an alternative opinion. (Sometimes harsh yet honest.) Remember, what you may not think is good may be funny to others. Set up a page for archives or sketches that don't have a home.

Good Luck

( I think your sketches and gags are commercial, especially the clown face stall for deers during hunting season.)

I like it. Lot's of white space and keeping it simple. Way to go! Good gags as well.

I like it too! I'd leave the cartoons up, I think it shows that you can be funny in a variety of different ways, and you are prolific. (Plus, I liked going through them all - good stuff!)

Well thanks everybody! I appreciate the input. I guess I'll just leave them all up there then. Very Happy
