Cartoon collectibles on eBay

Post by reybo on Wed 2 Feb - 15:14

Title of the eBay auction is "Drawings/autographs by famous 20th Century cartoonists."

The item will stay on eBay until sold. I have had this on my wall for more than 60 years.

Wormy chestnut frame size: 16.5 x 14.5 - Image size: 10.5 x 8.25

A "self portrait" by Bob Dunn
"Sluggo" drawn/signed by Ernie Bushmiller
"Rip Kirby" signed by Alex Raymond
George Wunder (it looks like "Nunder" but George Wunder drew "Terry and the Pirates" after Caniff)
"Pete the Tramp" drawn/signed by C.D. Russell
"Double Trouble" signed by Bill McLean
"Little King" drawn/signed by O. Soglow
Ray Bailey (had a strip called Bruce Gentry)
B(ela) Zaboly signature and his character, Popeye
Dow O. Walling signature (drew "Skeets")
"Jeff Crockett" girl drawn/signed by Mel Casson
Milton Caniff signature (created "Terry and the Pirates" and "Steve Canyon")
Some unclear sigs: could be Bill McField, could be Philip Nolan (of Buck Rogers?), could be Charles Flanders, and a few I don't recognize

Free shipping to the 50 states. Will be shipped framed under glass.
Overseas shipping weight 5 lbs (not free)

I myself have no less than 250 Dandy's & Beano's, but I think the oldest is around 70's mark.

I'm keeping hold of them for now though, they remind me of my youth. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks. Reason I don't is because when an item does not sell when first listed, the listing expires and, within a day or so, gets re-listed. So the link to the specific auction number is valid only for that that one instance. If it doesn't sell, a week later it has a new number.

So instead of a link I use the item Title which remains constant until the item sells.

This vintage cartoon item will stay listed until it sells. I probably hold the record for re-listing an item on eBay. Before I sold my Goggo motorscooter for the $3200 asking price it was re-listed 17 times. My as-new condition Osborne luggable computer had to be re-listed 18 times before someone (a private computer museum) would pay the $1500 I valued it at.

Cheers

Ok, now it's listed at a substantial lower price as a Good til canceled eBay ad at
http://tinyurl.com/43n7mkg

Selling it to finance a Hammacher Schlemmer hearing aid (dammit)
