Andries goals for december 2010

Well, new goals:

1 Telling other people to make up new goals for this month (done! :p)
2 Make a moving avatar (Thanks for the tip Simon)
3 Starting a webcomic, wich includes:
3-a What will be the subject of my webcomic?
3-b Making up the main characters + character sheets
3-c Drawing at least 3 3-panel comics.

Any tips about webcomics?

Finally got an idea about the subject of my webcomic.

Safari
Idea:
Its about a small group of people that (try to) make documentaries about wildlife. During their work they meet locals, hunters, dangerous animals and who knows what more.

Main characters:
a indiana jones type of hero
a clumsy cameraman
a handsome, smart and mean handy(wo)man
a pet pall of the hero (probably a monkey)

Other characters:
Hunters
People from local tribes
Inhabitants of lost cities
Guerilla's

Environments:
Savanne, jungle, antarctica
Villages, lost cities, ancient temples.

Jokesources:
The characters of the main characters. (And how they get along)
Strange situations the characters find theirselves in.
Broken devices. (camera's, telephones)
Behavior of animals


How do you like it? Expectations? Tips?

I think that that is a bloody brilliant concept Andries. You should be able to get a lot of mileage out of that and you could really manage to sustain that idea. I like it a lot. Very well thought out strategy. I look forward to the first episode!

Was planning to draw some things out in the chrismas holidays. Perhaps earlier if I can find some time. (Read: don't want to do homework.)

Jack
Survival man.
Nature freak. Always enthousiast.
A player. (As Julia has to experience, much to her dislike.)
Thinks he is the perfect man.

Likes nature, as long as it doesn't comes to close.
Technology geek. Saves the day if Hank accidently blows up his camera.
Often in a bad mood. (And a real witch if so)
Thinks Jack is NOT the perfect man. (And doesn't mind telling him.)

Cameraman
Clumsy, usually blows up every apparatus he uses.
Loves food, prepares dinner for the crew. (Doesn't mind accidently eating the last dodo.)
Rather avoids conflict.

Not sure about the names yet. (especially 'hank')
I'm probably not going to make the cartoons in color. (I first have to get used to 3 or 4 drawings for a cartoon in stead of 1, as I usually do.)
Looking for ways to keep the drawings simple.
Think I'm going to use indian ink instead of a fineliner. But not shure yet. (in these, I used a fineliner)

I really like the way this is going. Go for it. I said originally that I like the idea and I still do. Just for the record, Syndicates such as [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] only accept Black & White submissions.

Ah, allright. I will probably not send them to any syndicate, but perhaps, in the far future...

Here are the first 2 comics. This are text jokes. Visual jokes will come later on. ( have to practice some more first. )
As you might see, I re-used the drawings from comic 1 in comic 2.

My first improve points are:

1) Make sure the framelines fit with the drawings.
2) Draw everything with indian ink in stead of fineliner. (also the frames)
3) Make the drawings look more like eachother in one comic. (Jack is much taller in some frames.)
