Logo Design

Post by Simon Lake on Wed 15 Sep - 2:14

I wonder how much money was paid to this person for this logo? Can you see the subliminal message?

Apparently the person who designed the Nike Swoosh got about $35 for it and handed over all copyright. But after it became so famous, they gave her an unlimited supply of said goods for a lifetime. I just hope she's sporting lol.

Clever! I heard that the twitter bird was a stock image purchased cheaply (pun!) too. Read an interview of the designer and he said he wasn't resentful about ii, he was just glad they liked his bird image.

Personally, I don't really have an interest in logo design. The more I draw cartoons and such, the more I realize that I'm not terribly interested in being a designer. Other than putting my cartoons on products, I haven't made any new Zazzle designs in months.

I agree. Once it becomes like a Job as such, the whole point of the exercise goes down the drain. I draw to enjoy myself and no-one else. All creativity goes down the drain in this process and I'd rather just keep it as a therapeutic hobby than make a big scene about it. Did I warn you all about my latest venture? (Don't laugh)

WONDERFUL! I think that looks like a great time!!! A friend of a friend did something like that, he really liked it. And aren't we SUPPOSED to laugh? You should make a video of yourself to share with us, so we can all bask in your comedy genius!

Yeah for sure. Weird how the course bares the same Nome de plume as me. (Funny Business) It must be my calling.

yep, a video is a VERY good idea, can stick it on youtube!! I have a few sketches I want to film for fun when I get around to it for youtube. Bit controversial tho. Just finding the time as with everything else.

This guy has got it right. Tidy site, keeping it simple and specialized.

He says he does his inking in Photoshop and when the design is done only then does he make a vector graphic of it. Hmmmmm....he must have a very steady hand. I've tried to befriend him on facebook to pick his brain but he hasn't accepted yet.

After eight hours yesterday just finishing three A3 sheets of tattoo flash, I can sympathise with not wanting your art to become a job - it's blinking knackering! And my hand aches, the price I pay for being non-digital, I guess *owches*.

I can't really do logos meself, I personally prefer the intricacy of a cartoon or other drawings/paintings, but I admire the vision of those that do - it's almost a science to get it so visually arresting, and to take something that isn't even a word, like the Nike thing or the Twitter bird, and make that the brand identity.

I know what you mean about being tiring but it's just as bad with the digital work. Here is the umpteenth revision I've had to do for this Client....(My brain hurts a lot)
