How to draw cartoons - The Cartoonists Workbook by Robin Hall - book review

Post by Leah-Admin on Tue 1 Jun - 6:03

I bought this book which teaches you how to draw cartoons a few months ago.

I have a few cartoon drawing books like this now but this is the only one I'd reccomend. The step-by-step instructions are very helpful for the beginner and anyone who wants to fine tune their cartoon drawing style. It makes a fun read and the cartoons in it are inspirational.

I got the 1995 version of this. It's a good resource. Isn't this the bloke that ran Grant's Cartoon course? (I could be wrong)

Hi folks, I also have this book and Hall's other book "trade secrets" both are great, but he didn't run my cartoon course unfortunately, that would have made it well worth the cash!!! The tutor was Alexander Cameron [another Scotsman!]

I've got another 'how to draw cartoons' drawing book but of the two I prefer the cartoon style of this one. I guess it all comes down to personal taste and aesthetics at the end of the day. I also have a book re how to draw caricatures but IMO, the pics in it are not that good. Smile

Ah no, I was thinking of John Byrne, who wrote another book I've got. He was mentioned somewhere? Gosh this forum is getting deep....I can't find anything! cat
