I like the way the dog is rendered but I think it's a mistake to place the lettering in the image, especially since it's so large. Unless It's designed for a book cover, web main page, etc.

Fun comic strip! I think you've got some good ideas. Maybe try to tighten up the writing a little so the jokes pack more punch. But I like the ideas. Have you thought about your own domain instead of using blogspot?
