Status & choices of products to Draw Directly on Screen are?

Post by Mel_3 on Thu 29 Mar - 2:36

I'm trying to catch up on what products are out for freehand drawing directly on the screen.

1 - I'm guessing the hardware will require a stylus of some sort... right?

2 - And I'm guessing that a tablet is the hardware of choice for doing this... right?

3 - What are the hardware and Software choices that should be considered?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Leah

Thanks for the welcome and the link.

I was hopeful of striking up a conservation with folks who could make some specific suggestions.

There are a number of Android App's for drawing on the screen...

...But the problem is the screen requires your finger or a special stylus which does not have a well defined tip... in fact the stylus' I've seen have big fat hard to control tips.

... I found a kinda sharp pointed stylus on line once but it turned out to be a guy trying to get funded to develop it... thus the product was not actually available on the market for sale.

... I think the screen type is an issue... capacitive vs restive vs what else?

The requirement in this case is for doing cartoon like pen & ink (b&w) looking freehand drawings. And it would be nice if the software provided drawing layers.

Anyway, if you or others can share some suggestions it would be very helpful...

Thanks again.
