M. Cotton Well featured and pretty intuitive CAD package. It's very capable, yet the user can get straight on with drawing something, without having to get annoyed by reference points, parent-child associations, etc. that you get in the complex industrial packages (CATIA V5, SOLIDworks). The tutorials start from the very basics for those not used to controlling the MS Windows environment (screen resolution, etc) and take you through producing Working Drawings. Some of the tutorials speak as if you might be a student getting college work done. There was a sound problem in some of the tutorials - the commentary had an echo; most likely an odd interaction with my sound card. The icons and basic controls are pretty much similar to other CAD and drawing packages, so it's really easy to pick up. The default snapping is sensible and there are useful features like double-line/shape drawing modes to reduce time and fuss when you're working. Good selection of view options on mouse right-click in the main menu, including walk-throughs. There isn't a context-sensitive Help menu system, but the TurboCAD website says this is being addressed. Great for home use and simple industrial design work. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | ||
