Zomified Lady Gaga!

Post by AlexanderVB on Mon 3 Oct - 14:29

Whoa Nelly, I haven't been on here in some time. I sort of missed this place. I was really active for awhile, but then, pfttt....Anyway, I had to draw something for school. I've become particularly smitten with it and thought you guys might enjoy it.

This assignment required me to draw a zombie version of a celebrity that annoyed me. That's Lady Gaga for me. So, that said, Zombie Gaga was born.

Hello AlexanderVB,

Good to meet you, nice work, are you going to ink it in?

Ron

Thanks! I'm hesitant to ink it for the time being. I'm afraid I'll wreck it. Since it's canned, I may try doing it digitally, or maybe use some tracing paper.

It looks really cool. Yes tracing paper is a good idea. Save your pride of joy pencil sketch for prosperity and do a new version that you will have the confidence to attack with a pen cos' you know you have a back- up. I'm never without it and always keep all of my old tracings and they come in handy for future work. I actually made a light box once but found I was too lazy to get up all the time just to duplicate something.

At the same time, I'll let you in on another Top Tip. Scan it in (as I assume you already have) and print it out and ink over the scan. I know exactly where you are coming from with this as I also hate stuffing up my lovely drawings with a pen and they never look the same again to me. However, if you want to prepare yourself for a future in this Business (He says) you have to take this bold step. Boldness is the key particularly with Web Cartooning which is the future. I've reached the stage now where I don't paff around with the sketchiness of a drawing but look forward to putting it together in Photoshop once I've completed the tedious task of black inking.

Once I've scanned in a competed black line illustration I always pour myself a large Cognac, light a cigar and turn on the Telly and watch it come to life right before my very eyes. That's the fun part and that's really what it shoud be. That's why we all want to do it for work.

My thoughts were very similar to Simon's, I recommend if you know how to use P/S create your bold lines there and also practice inking in on copied sheets of your art,as to not damage the original.

With all that said, I enjoy inking in, it forces me to focus, plus I'm listening to music so I'm having a good time.

It appears to me you are taking classe in art, are you also taking classes in P/S?Being able to draw is great, but the tech side is neccessary if you want to stay competetive. Nothing bad about photo jockeys but they do have an edge.

Music drugs Art and rock and roll have always been compatible bed- fellows. I'm inspired by music entirely.

I gain a lot of my inspiration from Artists musical or otherwise. It's like a cocktail. drunken
