New Addition To Cartoonists United

Hi guys, I'm Dan, I'm mainly on here to learn helpful tips and chat to like minded individuals. I used to draw a lot when I was a kid but lost interest for years. I am now 23 and would like to get back into it again as I miss it and want to see if I can get anything published.

I believe my strengths lie more in my ideas than anything as I consider myself an average cartoonist/writer. I guess you could call me a conceptual cartoonist although I am working on improving my drawing and writing skills. At the moment I'm debating whether to go it alone or collaborate. I don't usually stick with one style it varies from old skool uk comics, random nonsense, dark, superhero/mutant themed. Ideally I want to write graphic novels, humour books and have my characters in the Beano and even marvel. No harm in having aspirations eh?!

No harm at all, Dan, and welcome! I feel sorry for people who don't dare to have a dream. Just keep working at it and as time goes on, you'll become a better artist. I read somewhere that anything you attempt to master takes about 10,000 hours of practice. I've got about 9,000 more to go!
