Hello, from new member

Post by Ayla on Fri 8 Jul - 2:58

I have this ridiculous notion that a comic strip is actually sketch comedy story-boarded.
If I just stop there, hire no actors etc, i can write a lot of sketches -exploring widely,
developing through a lot of practice. (In music, it took writing about 300 songs
before I'd developed the ability to do anything interesting...

I got the idea of partially animating the strips because a stagnant strip is lifeless somehow,
especially online. And besides, people love shiny things, and things that move. (Other things
people love include criticizing, masturbating, excuse-making and flatulence) Shocked (It's ok,
I've provided you with my IP address in case you need to ban me for saying naughty things Razz)
(It's all true though).

Speaking of truth, a college professor once told me stand up comics possess a better understanding
of people and current society than anyone (his profession and "news"-people included). Of course I said
back, "Damn straight, sir. Everyone knows we're smarter than you!" (Luckily I didn't say this out loud XD )

So I have many strip ideas i want to explore.
I bought a pentablet, photoshop, Toon Boom,
and Cartoon Smart...and I've never tried using
any of these. (I'm busy.) (I publish a magazine
and a forum. It has no members, yet, but I give
it 16 hours a day, hoping to build something
worth advertising to get members for soon.)

So will I ever do my strips? I dont know. But I've
carried this interest around a long time.

Confession: I need to make money. Whatever I
give my time to, needs to pay me. And that need
may supercede the need to play happily, and just
do one simple thing...

So I seek here:

just to visit and read up, find things out

and if anyone knows anything about the
money-making end of producing artistic
em, 'stuff' (<--he he, some word smith I am , eh?)
OR if you'd just like to answer me with "It's true.
i love to masturbate and criticize too. Though i draw
the line at combining these interests !"

em, what? It's not that funny? *blink*

oh.

*forlorn*

Hi!

Very Happy

Hello and welcome to the Forum Ayla! I think we are going to get along just fine. A synicated strip is the highest accolade of any Cartoonist. Money? Yes please. You know masturbation does have it's advantages. You don't really have to look your best and plus what you mix with a better class of person really at the end of the day. What a Face
