I bought this Wacom Bamboo Graphics Tablet & Pen to help me draw cartoons via the computer. It's a very simple, yet effective piece of kit. Cost around £50. Leah

That would be stunning! Good ruse to move the thread up as well.

They do look nice. I made one with a few of my earlier toons already. They are great for showing off your wares to potential clients as well as gifts and keepsakes. The paper is nice and thick and so on.

Meanwhile I think lulu.com allow you to create comic style books and sell them via their site, that might be a fun project for later on. Maybe we could start our own magazine (like poot but not poot) Smile Lulu and sites like them don't charge you to create books. They just take a royalty when they sell. (I think)

No harm in thinking large, these things are easier to get going via cyber space than one may think.

The chance would be a fine thing Rab. I just love the way you do that old school varying thickness of line. It gives your drawing real dimension so much so that you don't really need to shade or colour at all. Do you use an ink pen or brush? I've tried to do that but failed miserably. A dying and enviable trait.

I am so glad you drew this Rab, as I thought of a funny (in my opinion) gag for our strip but was wondering how I'd work it in! Now I can Smile

Next toon coming soon (ooh poet I am!)

Note: please post pics in here and pic banter here and I'll copy pics over to the other threads later. That way we keep things tidy and easy for members and guests to follow - Ta chaps (anal of me I know!)

Simon: I've tried inking by brush, which I agree looks great, but I've never begun to master it either.....I picked up an idea from the MAD artist who done 'SPY vs SPY: ' he drew 'fake' flexible lines, where he filled in two seperate ink lines with black, and this is what I often do: not as cool or skilled as ink-brushing, but good for a bold ink effect.

Some great imaginitive variations on this idea: well done, you two!

Hi guys

I have created a new thread for one-off egg head gag cartoons that don't fit the flow of the story but are funny anyway. I've had a couple of ideas (yet to scan and what not) which I will post there and I see Rab has created a fabulous gag cartoon again! Well done Rab.

We still have pregnancy to get though yet though! Wink

Imagine a pregnant egg?
