Login via Facebook | Random Jokes Generator Getting the word on the street....marketing cartoons chit chat ! Thu 19 Jan - 4:38 by RussCartoons I've just spoken to a lovely Oirish guy at Yell.com... And it got me thinking- what do you guys use to promote yourself ? I know Leah's a big fan of Facebook marketing. I've recently tried a few things which have had varying results- I'll share them here, but if anyone's paid for an advert with Yell, I'd love to know how it went ! First-the Freelancer sites: Very hit and miss in my experience...I've had a few of my best jobs through them ( an album cover and the O2 tour of Britain ) but when it comes to more general jobs ( office retirement/ christmas caricatures, logos etc. ) it's blind luck your bid gets accepted. And most of the prospective employers don't seem to know how much to pay for any particular job. Second-Google ads: Not tried these yet and I'd welcome your experiences ! Third-Gumtree: Spookily successful ! Especially for live caricature work, although I doubt it would do much for spot cartoons etc. Fouth- Yell.com I'm tempted, I gotta say. £370 for a years advertising with promo video included. One gig would cover that, so I'm halfway to agreeing to do it....but let me know ! Could be a crock for all I know. Also....what tricks or tips have YOU got ? ( And yes, I can hear the muttering.."I'm not reddy telling anyone !" but c'mon...we're all pals here right ? Comments: 1 Services
